NoFX gehört definitiv zu den besten, bekanntesten und beliebtesten Punkrock Bands. Es gibt nicht viele Bands aus dem Bereich, die sich mit ihnen messen können (da wäre z.B. "Bad Religion") und deshalb ist auch diese Rubrik hier einfach Pflicht. Have fun!

BIOGRAPHIE
1984 nehmen sie ihr erstes Demotape auf, im Jahr darauf touren sie und spielen für $50 in Garagen. 1985 nehmen sie bei Mystic Records ihre ersten Singles und EPs auf, kommen mit dem Label aber nicht klar, weshalb Fat Mike sein eigenes gründet: Fat Wreck Chords. Außerdem wechseln sie von Mystic Records zum Bad Religion eigenen Label Epitaph. Ab 1986 mutiert Fat Mike zum Fulltime-Sänger, 1989 kommt schließlich noch El Hefe an der zweiten Gitarre hinzu, außerdem spielt er Trompete. In dieser Besetzung haben sie bis heute weitergemacht.
Mit ihrem 91'er Album "Ribbed" wurden sie erstmals über die Grenzen ihrer Heimat Californien bekannt. Mit dem Einstieg von El Hefe verändert sich auch der Stil der Band, es fließt mehr Ska in die Musik ein und was das Wichtigste ist, durch ihn wird die Band erheblich besser. Als 1992 "White Trash, Two Heebs And A Bean" veröffentlicht wird, gelingt NoFX der Durchbruch und zwei Jahre später sind sie mit "Punk In Drublic" ganz oben. MTV fragt nach Videos, die Majorlabels bieten Verträge an, doch NoFX bleiben sich treu und schlagen alle Angebote aus. Zwei Jahre später schaffen sie es mit "Heavy Petting Zoo" erneut, die Massen auf ihre Seite zu ziehen. Das 97'er Album "So Long And Thanks For All The Shoes" findet hingegen weniger Resonanz als der Vorgänger.
Nach knapp drei Jahren Wartezeit melden sich die Könige des Californiapunk im Mai 2000 mit "Pump Up The Valuum" zurück. Woraufhin es erstmal wieder für zwei Jahre still wird um NoFX. Mit vulminanten Auftritten auf Open-Air-Veranstaltungen in ganz Europa, bei denen nicht nur George "Dabbeljuh" Bush sein fett weg kriegt, und 2 Alben, "45 or 46 Songs That Weren't Good Enough To Go On Our Other Records" mit bisher unveröffentlichtem Material, sowie "Nofx/Rancid BYO Split Series Vol. III" einem Gemeinschaftswerk mit Rancid getreu dem Motto 'Ich spiel deine Mucke, Du spielst meine' werden die treuen Fans dafür allerdings wieder mehr als entschädigt.
Inspiriert von Amerikas Big Brother-Mentalität und Bushs naiver Weltanschauung kam im Mai 2003 das Album "The War On Errorism", das mit allen Freunden texanischer Lebensweisen abrechnete.
